Discovered by
Europeans in late 1533 or early 1534, the peninsula now named
Baja California was visited by a variety of explorers and
missionaries. There are natural wonders found throughout the
entire 1,100 mile length of the Baja, such as the Copper
Canyons, a centerpiece of Northern Mexico that attracts visitors
from all over the world.
